Job Description
This role will require relocation to Jakarta, Indonesia. The company is looking for a native Chinese speaker who is open to relocate.
My client is an emerging digital bank for the Indonesia market. The company was formed through a merger in 2022 between a leading Indonesian retail bank and a Chinese digital bank. Hence, they are looking for a CTO who can bridge this gap.
Thanks to the retail bank’s legacy, they already have a user base of 200m, and thanks to the cutting edge technology of the Chinese digibank, they are now poised to become the most trusted digital bank in Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities:
As a CTO of an early stage (but high growth FinTech) you will:
- Lead the entire Technology team (around 60 people)
- Own and further develop the Technology roadmap, including transforming the current structure to be “product led” (agile, squad based)
- Report to CEO and interface with the investment team, board members and current technology teams (based in both Indonesia and China)
- Embody strategic thinking across the technology organization – helping to determine the future of the team and the business at large
Key Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A very strong background in technology (a degree in Computer Science/Engineering would be useful, plus several years working in technology / app based companies)
- Prior experience leading significant technology teams (30+ people)
- Strategic vision to back up your technology skills
- Experience with the Indonesia market would be a plus, but it’s not a must have
- A passion / interest in the fintech domain and the future of digi banking in traditionally “underserved” markets
